The Robert Elkon Gallery opened with its first exhibition in 1961, under the ownership and directorship of Robert Elkon. Mr. Elkon was born in Belgium, but moved to New York City at the beginning of the Second World War, and made New York his home from that time forth, continuing to always keep his communication with Europe alive and well. The gallery was an immediate success and in 1962 was one of the founding members of the Art Dealers Association of America (ADAA). Vicky Colombet is a French-American visual artist. With a career spanning over three decades, her abstract paintings, works on paper, prints, fine art photography, and architectural glass projects exist in conversation with various art historical movements— from traditional Chinese Painting to Abstract Expressionism.

She is the Recipient of the Esther and Adolph Gottlieb Foundation Grant (2001) and the Pollock- Krasner Foundation Grant (2014). She has been a member of the Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts in Manhattan since 2004. In October 2020, the Musée Marmottan-Monet will present a solo exhibition of Colombet in dialogue with Claude Monet. Several of the paintings listed below will be in the forthcoming museum catalogue.
