Founded in 1994, Sicardi | Ayers | Bacino was among the first in the U.S. to represent avant-garde and contemporary artists from Latin America. The gallery represents a range of artists, from modernist masters Jesús Rafael Soto and Carlos Cruz-Diez, to contemporary artists including Oscar Muñoz and Liliana Porter. For 25 years, Sicardi | Ayers | Bacino has worked to further appreciation for Latin American art by placing these artists’ work in museums and collections, and serving as a cultural platform for academic research and creative exploration.

Sicardi | Ayers | Bacino is pleased to announce a solo exhibition of works by Liliana Porter [Argentina, b. 1941], with a curatorial text written by independent curator Tobias Ostrander. Red Brush and Other Situations is on view at Sicardi | Ayers | Bacino in Houston, Texas through Saturday, June 13, 2020. As Ostrander notes, “With all of Porter’s works there is always the sensation of a wink or knowing smile being implied. She is consistently the clever savant playing the role of the innocent child looking to understand or construct meaning. Her works perpetually escape irony however, through their projection of the sincerity of their investigations.”
